Quote About A Church Anniversary

The creation and fall

It is not known when and how the angels were created, and this has certainly not at all important. Every right implies that God took them from nothing probably before the creation of the material universe, certainly before the man and woman, but commentators and theologians are very embarrassed to give a more accurate answer. St. Augustine believed that they were created at the same time of light. The German stigmatized Santa Anna Catherine Emmerich (1774-1824), as a good Augustinian nun, seems to have reached this point his spiritual father: This view is perhaps the first that I had. I was then a child five to six years, and I thought that everyone could see those things, like what we see around us (...).
I saw first of all an infinite space of light spread before me, and, in this relaxed, more like a globe of light in which I saw the Unity of the Trinity. I called her acquiescence in myself, and I saw you as an operation to the exterior: the globe then appeared in the choirs of heavenly spirits, such as concentric circles or rings extend to infinity, shining with light, strength and beauty. This world of light was like a sun in the first world, and together they brought all these choirs of angels to those in a rush of love. She also reached the Bible, the Fathers and Doctors, the number of heavenly spirits, which all agree in saying immense: Behold, O man, before whom thou shalt come into the crowd of witnesses in court. The whole human race will be present. Summon all men in every spirit that have existed from Adam to this day. It 'an immense multitude. It is still small, because the angels are much more numerous: they are the 99 sheep, and in that humanity is not that one. And 'in fact wrote that his servants are a thousand times a thousand, that this number does not define their multitude, but because the Prophet has not been able to express a larger one.

Santa Francesca Romana (1386-1440), undoubtedly the best informed among the mystics sull'angelologia, seeing them out of the hands of the Creator "as when the snow falls and that there are so many flakes in the air meeting" He saw the admirable servant of Christ, the creation of angels, and say how they were created all at once pure and beautiful, then they were divided into groups, and this distinction was marked with different colors, and this according to his dignity. Even this distinction, beauty, or rather knew discernette those who had to persevere in grace, as opposed those who were lost. It says that they were blessed roughly a third. And when she saw them create, so it was nice to be part of the Creator by angels, not being able to express it, all the beauty caught fire as seraphic.

Even before her, St. Angela of Foligno (1248-1309) could not conceal his wonder at the multitude of spirits prostrate in adoration around the Christ, which she once contemplated during mass. Yet she saw nothing but a small fraction of the heavenly: Their host was charming and so many perfectly, that if the number and size were not the laws of creation, I would have believed without number and without measures the sublime crowd I saw. I could not wait to finish this multitude or in width or length, I saw wild beyond our numbers.
the same initial vision, Anna Catherine Emmerich saw the rebellion and fall of a part of them, she saw that occur immediately after the creation of the angelic world: I saw just a part of these circles freeze at themselves. They stood motionless in their beauty, he conceived a selfish pleasure, and considering that all beauty was in them, they fell back and stared in themselves. At first, everyone was transported out of them by moving higher, now a part of them stared at themselves and at the same time, I saw all this portion of the collapse and darken bright choruses, while in the other heavenly spirits sent away and they had filled the spaces left vacant, so that the whole angelic sphere became smaller than before. But I have not seen the angels who remained faithful to have chased the other venturing beyond the limits of the world of light. The German

stigmatized Therese Neumann (1898-1962) was she too, September 29, 1928, a vision of the rebellion and the fall of the angels: Today, the feast of St. Michael, Teresa provides the angelic world (light figures teenagers, dressed in robes of light of a large sparkling white), unfolding in different orders, with 12 archangels at the top. At first, the Angels are still all nice and good, and sing. Then arises a struggle in gestures, words and movements, during which about a third of the angelic spirits are obscure and even four of them. Then the angels remained light and darkness have become angels in two armies ready for combat, dark angels under the leadership of the most powerful of the archangels, and good under the command of one who comes after him in dignity and that they meet at the cry of Michael! The fight continues until such time as the good angels reject the evil in the depths. And the victorious spirit sing with joy: "Kadosch, kadosch, kadosch. The fall of the rebellious spirits - now called demons - is the most dramatic episode in the history of the angelic world.

To emphasize the horror, the Fathers of the Church have applied to Lucifer, the leader of fallen angels, the words of the prophet Isaiah: How art thou fallen from heaven / Astro Bright, son of? / How did you get knocked down, you who subjugate all the nations? / You were saying in your heart I will climb up into heaven, Above the stars of God / erect my throne, I will sit on the mountain of the meeting / In the depths of the north: I will climb the peaks of the clouds, I will be like the Most High (Isaiah 14, 12-14).

This drama is evoked in the Apocalypse of John, in the form of a symbolic struggle: And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels made war on the Dragon. And the dragon made war, as well as his angels, and they did not have the upper hand, and is no longer room for them in heaven. It was thrown, the Dragon, the great (Dragon), the Serpent, the old (Snake), who is called Devil and Satan, who disperses the whole world was thrown on the earth and his angels were cast with him (Rev 12, 7-9).
How about a widescreen, Anne Catherine Emmerich beheld the fight, in total silence that makes the sight even more impressive to the point that she could not find words to describe it. And she concluded: "There will be a tough fight, my soul and this fight seemed infinitely long, so that it is almost impossible. But the fight is taking place now on earth, since there is more fighting in the sky, just as God has decreed

One legend reports that traces of this battle are still visible today in what is called the Colorado Provencal region of hills and ravines of the village of Apt, at the foot of the Luberon red rock - which until the early twentieth century ocher fueled a thriving industry - is due to blood rejected by the rebel angels' angel Gabriel, who would have soaked the earth. As well, the stone chapel erected indicating Lorencajal de San Miguel, Spain, would be the rock in which the archangel Lucifer would put groggy at the time of great struggle. GABRIELLE BOSSIS

Mysticism (1874-1950), claims to have heard Jesus tell him that human history will end when the rows left empty by the fallen angels in heaven will be filled by a corresponding number of elected members. How to say how many angels!

This revelation has nothing original, formerly St. Hildegard of Bingen (1098-1179) it was made, following an equally indisputable authorities like St. Augustine and St. Bernard (The celestial choirs) then knew the wonders of God in an unparalleled splendor. They understood that such struggle would no longer have place in heaven and that henceforth no angel would fall from the sky. And they learned in the pure divinity that the number of fallen spirits was about to be replaced with the clay pots. Knowing then that the number of those who fell was about to be restored, they began to forget the fall, as if it had not existed.
The statement will be taken up by Bossuet, by Anne Catherine Emmerich, of the other mystics again: "But Gabrielle heard from the lips of Jesus is precious, since there is an eschatological view very interesting." Gabrielle Bossis began to have the expressions of Christ in 1936, when a transatlantic crossing. She was then sixty-two, and noted the words within, which were published in seven installments under the title "He and I". Above all, men know this fight on a daily basis, this relentless confrontation with the mystery of evil, suffering, temptation. Even more than the saints, that their search for God, their communion with the misery of their brothers and their proximity to the creation give hypersensitive to the devastation caused by sin, but also polishes on their own weaknesses and their limits. They know they are in the heart of the struggle, that souls are the pledge, but also the help of God and his angels will never be them less, as the following anecdote illustrates. One day, Abba Moses - an old converted brigand, as many hermits came to expiate in solitude the loss of their past life - he goes to visit the Lone Isidore, who lived in the remote wilderness of Scetis: tempted by the devil, unclean, he went to ask at the holy hermit comfort and encouragement. Leaving the packaging of the baskets (his favorite occupation, prayer), Isidore made him go with him on the roof terrace of his cell: - View to the West! Moses saw then, the line of the west, a multitude of demons who were preparing to fight noisily. Frightened, he turned to the lonely, who continued: - Look to the East! This time, Moses saw a huge army of angels brighter than the sun, absorbed in silent prayer and deployed in battle. And Isidore to conclude: - The ones you saw in the west, here are the ones that attack the saints and those who have stocks to the east, are those that God sends help to the saints. Know therefore that the number and strength are on our side. All ingagliardito, Moses regained his hermitage, determined not to be more impressed by the temptations of the devil. That was in the fifth century.
E 'happened to various saints to be in direct contact with Satan, suffering the assaults of its immediate in their blood, but also in their flesh, without going back up to Anthony the Great, in the third century, or to Martin of Tours, one hundred years later known Examples of the Curé of Ars, well yes, but also of John Calabria, Padre Pio and Martha Robin, to name just the most recent.

This would seem foolish, would smile spirits strong, but YVONNE-Aime JESUS \u200b\u200b(Yvonne Beauvais, 1901-1951), the famous religious Malestroit, answered by an expert, she referred to the devil inflicted cruel and very real abuse of which his body bears the scars to his death: To say that there are wise people who deny the personal existence and the work of the devil! I would certainly see what they would do if you get under a visible form at the foot of their bed, returning to their room at night! The heavenly spirits, who experience they know the price of defeat - eternal damnation - they have received from God "order to keep the men in all (their) way" (Psalm 91, 11). This mission, which they exercised in many different ways depending on the circumstances and temperament of each, shall be referred particularly to certain among them, the guardian angels: we will meet them along these pages.
